Description
This audio CD is an integral part of the complete course and helps teachers actively involve all pupils in lessons. Listening activities reinforce correct word pronunciation and sentence intonation. In the second stage, the character Vicky is voiced in British English, while Rachel is voiced in American English, introducing pupils to differences between British and American pronunciation. New vocabulary and key texts are reinforced in British English by native speakers. In Year 5, the recordings also teach practical words and phrases in the native languages of performers representing characters from the textbook’s blog story, including American English, Russian, Italian, German and French, such as greetings and good wishes. Pupils thus learn to understand English texts spoken by a range of different voices.
