The core of the book presents the work and lives of more than sixty significant photographers, including František Drtikol, Jaromír Funke, Josef Sudek, Jan Lukas, Dagmar Hochová, Josef Koudelka, Jan Saudek, Jindřich Štreit, Libuše Jarcovjáková, Karel Cudlín, Antonín Kratochvíl, Tono Stano, Ivan Pinkava and Miroslav Tichý. The text is supplemented by comic-strip stories depicting key moments in the development of photography in the region.
