This Czech-language book presents the life and work of PhDr. Jan Kefer (1906–1941) and his wife Dagmar (1916–1942). Jan Kefer was one of the best-known representatives of modern Czech hermeticism, a leading figure in the Universalia society, a translator into Czech, particularly of books by Eliphas Lévi, an author of works on astrology, theurgy and magic, editor of the Logos review, and an active lecturer. The book contains an introductory text by D. Ž. Bor, the memoirs of Reginald Kefer, a detailed chronology of the life and work of Jan and Dagmar Kefer by Zuzana Zadrobílková, and a concluding assessment of Jan Kefer’s importance to Czech hermeticism by Lukáš Loužecký. The text is supplemented by an extensive collection of images.
