Descripción
This Czech-language factual book describes the secret Soviet missile war over the Suez Canal. When Egyptian President Gamal Nasser declared a war of attrition against Israel in March 1969, he did not foresee that the conflict would soon turn into a spectacular display of the Israeli air force. Egypt’s air defences along the Suez Canal were quickly reduced to ruins, forcing Nasser to seek assistance from Moscow. In response to Egypt’s request for help, the Soviet Union sent weapons and troops whose involvement was to have a decisive influence on the further course of the fighting.
