This first Czech edition of the complete surviving body of Andrej Platonovič Platonov’s poetry presents an almost unknown aspect of the author’s work. It introduces him not only as a prose writer, creator of satirical and critical short stories, and author of utopian visions, but also as a poet of remarkable thematic variety. His later and better-known writing grows out of his early poetry, marked by symbolism, existentialism and cosmism. All of Platonov’s fully preserved poems are translated, while an accompanying study places his little-known poetic work in context. The contents are in Czech.
