This Czech-language geography textbook from the Journeys Across Continents series focuses on America and Africa and is designed in accordance with the Czech Framework Educational Programme for Basic Education. Emphasis is placed on linking topics and applying knowledge in practice. Alongside the subject matter, the chapters include clear diagrams, graphs, photographs and illustrations, as well as cross-curricular links to related topics in other textbooks from the series, cross-cutting themes, group tasks, terms in English and German, revision and creative activities, interesting facts, internet work, and exercises using maps and globes. Sets of outline maps are also available as teaching aids, and the textbooks are prepared in an interactive format. The opening chapter, People on Earth, introduces the people who live on Earth and their activities, including nations, languages, religion, agriculture, mineral resources, industry and transport. Students then discover the natural beauty of America and Africa, learn about the inhabitants of these continents, and explore their main countries, basic characteristics and traditions.
