On 23 September 2026, Miloň Čepelka celebrates his ninetieth birthday. Radek Žitný and Nakladatelství ČAS have prepared this retrospective publication for him and for the many people who like him. It maps the life and artistic career of this exceptional personality, whose modesty may be the only reason he seems inconspicuous in the best sense of the word. Behind his shy smile stands a man who can command a stage as confidently as the airwaves, and who feels at home in music, theatre, radio, television and film. His writing includes poetic, prose and dramatic works. The book presents Miloň Čepelka as far more than a scholar of Jára Cimrman, the role for which he is best known. He is also an outstanding lyricist, prose writer, poet, screenwriter and dramatist, a lifelong theatre actor who occasionally appears in films, a presenter, journalist and even an excellent singer, although he himself denies it. Alongside the birthday celebrant, family members and a wide range of colleagues and friends contribute their memories.
