Descripción

In this collection of poems, an author who considers irrational matters rather rationally does not answer every question he asks, but instead raises them, with their essential meaning lying in the tension between opposing answers. The poems explore the fine line between pain and hope in awakening and finding a pure meaning in life, revealing in part the author’s solitude, sensitive fragility, sadness and anger. Their images emerge like mist: the essence of the universe is ash; it is not easy to experience beauty alone; the mind and feelings, love and desire are the most important parts of the universe; sadness is love “without a home”; and everyone carries a piece of tamed evil within. This is a tiring, complicated yet unresigned struggle between soul and body, described with detachment and strikingly powerful word combinations that represent the author’s thought processes. The poems form an intricate marathon of imagination. Read from beginning to end with a desire for understanding, they are interconnected as a complete poetic statement and an ode to the rare ability to see and perceive oneself as a whole being composed of both good and evil. In the author’s view, people do not wrap themselves in accumulated experience and knowledge but reveal themselves, through divine energy, all the way to their innermost selves. The contents are in Czech.
