Descripción
This Czech-language publication addresses one of the most serious issues of the present day: the increasing occurrence of risky behaviour and worsening mental health among children and young people. Aggression, bullying and addictive behaviour, as well as depression, anxiety, self-harm and suicidal behaviour, now significantly affect the lives of families and schools. The authors offer a realistic yet comprehensive view of the issue. The first part considers broader social changes in recent years and their impact on the development of children and young people, with particular attention to modern communication technologies, changes in the family environment and the specific risks of adolescence. Further chapters focus on preventing risky behaviour in schools, clearly describing the school counselling system and the roles of school management, teachers, school counsellors and external organisations. The book draws on current research, studies and reports documenting developments in risky behaviour among children and young people, supplemented by a questionnaire survey among educators. The final chapter presents the views and experiences of experts involved in school prevention and intervention. It is intended for teachers, educators, school counsellors, prevention specialists and anyone interested in current issues affecting children and young people.
