Pravěk a starověk - Učebnice (Dějepis pro ZŠ a vícel. gymnázia) RVP – Augusta Pavel (2009)

This history textbook, whose contents are in Czech, is divided into 32 chapters, each containing texts, illustrations, a glossary of terms and questions. The texts present the facts needed to become familiar with the period under study, while pictures and maps help students form a clearer idea of it. Questions at the end of each chapter direct students’ attention to the most important material; others encourage further thought, research and creative processing of information. Students can use different sources and work independently or in teams. The texts have been adapted to meet the requirements of the Czech Framework Educational Programme, supplemented with teaching materials, cross-curricular topics and links between subjects. The textbook is part of a series designed in cooperation with teachers and based on many years of pedagogical experience. Its concept complies with the curriculum framework, treating historical subject matter as a means of developing expected learning outcomes and key competencies. The material is richly illustrated and supported by a varied teaching apparatus, with attention to modern educational approaches.
