This Czech-language workbook is suitable for special nursery schools, preparatory classes and the lower grades of special primary schools. The first section explains basic concepts and develops an understanding of the numbers 1–5, with emphasis on sensory perception. Simple rhymes are based on situational pictures, allowing a wide choice of motivating stories and educational activities. The second section provides an initial introduction to quantities and the numerals 1–5, again focusing on practical exercises. Each numeral is followed by activities for finding one’s way along the number line. The workbook is imaginatively illustrated by Edita Plicková.
