Descripción
This scholarly book, with contents in Czech, examines the Second Crusade against the Hussites in 1421, one of the largest military campaigns undertaken by Catholic Europe against the Hussites. Despite extensive preparations and the participation of thousands of soldiers, the campaign failed, prompting questions from contemporary chroniclers and later historians. The book offers the most comprehensive account to date of the circumstances and course of the second anti-Hussite crusade, based on extensive study of historical sources, including previously unknown or overlooked texts. The campaign emerges as a turning point in the organisation, promotion and strategic thinking surrounding the war against the Hussites.
