Descripción
This gripping 1990s thriller is full of mysteries and Southern charm, with reality blending into the supernatural. Patricia Campbell once had a promising future, but since giving up her nursing career to become a mother, life has never seemed more tedious. The days are long, the children ungrateful, her husband distant and the list of responsibilities endless. Her only oasis is a book club made up of women who share her passion for true crime and thrillers. At their meetings, they discuss the federal siege at Waco rather than marital crises and motherhood. When the attractive and artistically gifted James Harris moves into the neighbourhood, he catches the attention of the book-club members and enchants Patricia as well. She experiences feelings with him that she has not felt for years, but there is something strange about him. When local children begin disappearing and the police are helpless, Patricia develops a disturbing suspicion. She investigates on her own, convinced that he is another Jeffrey Dahmer or Ted Bundy. What she discovers, however, is far more terrifying. It soon becomes clear that she and her friends from the book club are the only barrier between the unsuspecting community and the monster they have allowed into their homes. The contents are in Slovak.
