Descripción
The Czech-language novel follows twenty-seven-year-old Katka, who repeatedly breaks up and gets back together with her boyfriend Leoš. He is already in a relationship with Alena and continues to promise Katka that he loves her and will be with her, but his words never become actions. Katka finally decides to leave him for good, although she naturally misses him and tries in various ways to keep busy. Her friends keep trying to set her up with someone, and one day, on her way home from a wedding, she gets a flat tire and meets the likeable Marek. Her first response is hostility rather than gratitude, but he is not discouraged and gives her his card. At a friend's urging, Katka contacts him, and their meetings gradually develop into a beautiful relationship. Before Christmas, she introduces Marek to her unconventional family. Everyone sincerely wishes them well, except for Katka's wise grandmother, who senses that everything is not as sunny as it first appears.
