Descripción
This richly written fantasy novel follows siblings Adélka and Šimon, who move with their parents to Šeříková Street on the edge of town. Their new home is an old, neglected-looking building unlike any other, and its walled garden hides a secret. When the children explore a majestic oak, they discover an object resembling a pocket watch inside its trunk. The object transports them to the magical world of Elementárie, where magical beings are connected to the elements of nature. There they meet Zimolez Stromžík, a tiny sprite who dislikes being called one and can mix all kinds of magical potions. He lives with his wife Závojenka inside the trunk of a mighty tree in an enchanted forest. The children learn that Elementárie needs their help and that its queen must be saved. Their adventure reveals more than they expect: they discover that they are not the first visitors to Elementárie and that the queen is not the only one who needs rescuing. They also meet the original owner of their neglected house. The book is in Czech.
