Linnee is sixteen, and her best friend has suddenly stopped speaking to her. Bard is widely known for always doing everything properly and honestly, but in reality he wants to leave his family for a colleague from work. Hanne is trying to rid herself of traumatic childhood memories, when she was bullied at school for being overweight, even though at fifty she has finally managed to lose weight and find a serious relationship. When the whole family gathers for a celebration in the small town where they all come from, secrets from the present and the past rise to the surface. Can they talk about old grievances and move on, or will they all return home just as they were before? Perhaps it is time to accept that our ideas about other people often have nothing to do with their true personalities, and that we ourselves unwillingly pretend to be someone else in front of others throughout our lives.
