This Czech-language book offers beginning readers stories about first-graders who are learning to read, write and count and experiencing various adventures at home and at school. Based on the genetic method of reading instruction, the stories are written entirely in uppercase letters and arranged from simpler texts made up of short or monosyllabic words to more challenging stories containing two- and three-syllable words. Their length is adapted to beginning readers, so children can read them independently at home, at school or in an after-school group, while perhaps recognizing their own name, story or friends among the characters.
