Descripción

Published in 1901, this book examines faulty actions such as forgetting, slips of the tongue, misreading, rewriting and accidental movements. According to Freud, these can be rationally explained as products of the unconscious rather than dismissed as mere chance. Since everyone experiences such mistakes, he suggests that we are all somewhat neurotic. Less burdened by theory and more practical than speculative, the book offers a suitable introduction to Freud’s ideas. It is also considered one of his best-known works and an important contribution not only to the study of psychopathology, but also to linguistics, semantics and philosophy. The contents are in Czech. Sigmund Freud (1856–1939) was a Viennese neurologist and psychotherapist, the founder of psychoanalysis and the third most frequently cited figure in twentieth-century psychology.
