Růst a světlo tvarů - Aspekty díla Miloše Ševčíka – Ševčík Miloš (2025)

This Czech-language book brings together studies and essays by Czech and Slovak authors devoted to the work of painter, graphic artist, draughtsman and sculptor Miloš Ševčík (1939–2007). The essays and studies are divided into art-historical contributions by Adam Hnojil, Dušan Brozman, Ivan Neumann and Jolana Pastor, aesthetic contributions by Peter Michalovič, Marian Zervan, Vlastimil Zuska and Miloš Ševčík Jr., and memoirs by Václav Sokol. The collected texts present Miloš Ševčík’s work in relevant artistic and intellectual contexts, highlighting his specific position in the development of Czech visual art in the second half of the 20th century while also examining it in the context of changes in European art during the 20th century. The studies and essays discuss every part of his artistic output—graphic art, painting, drawing and sculpture. They are accompanied by an extensive selection of images documenting the development of his work across all the techniques he used and throughout every period of his career, from figurative works to semi-abstract creations.
