Descripción
Master Eckhart (1260–1327) entered the wider cultural consciousness at the beginning of the 20th century and quickly acquired a reputation as a mysterious mystic connected through profound relationships with other mystics from antiquity to Novalis. Yet Eckhart was a respected university scholar and a highly active religious official, the author of extensive Latin writings, who clearly regarded himself as a Christian philosopher. The central subject of his investigations is “pure reason”, intellectus, as Averroes transmitted it to Latin thinkers. Averroes was a key inspiration for Albert the Great, whose important pupils and followers included not only Thomas Aquinas but also Dietrich of Freiberg and Eckhart himself. The book is in Czech.
