Descripción
This Czech-language work examines the development of the individual Balkan countries, the region as a whole and the policies of the major powers during the Second World War. Unlike earlier major studies focused, for example, on British or German policy in the region or on the wartime development of individual countries, it offers the first synthesis of current knowledge about collaboration, resistance and civil war in southeastern Europe. It also helps explain the rise of Communist power in four Balkan countries and their subsequent Sovietization.
