Descripción
Menstrual cycle disorders, which manifest as abnormal uterine bleeding, significantly reduce women’s quality of life and are also one of the most common reasons women visit a gynaecologist. Effective treatment requires extensive knowledge of the physiology and pathophysiology of the female reproductive system. This book presents clear diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms for addressing menstrual cycle disorders, together with their endocrinological and reproductive aspects. Alongside up-to-date information on the historical and cultural perspectives of menstruation and the evolutionary aspects of human reproduction, it provides an overview of current theories concerning the physiology and pathophysiology of the neurohumoral regulation of the cycle, the basic causes of abnormal uterine bleeding, diagnostic methods and treatment procedures. Designed also as a practical teaching resource, the book is intended not only for gynaecologists but for other healthcare professionals who encounter manifestations of menstrual cycle disorders. This is the second, updated and expanded edition. The contents are in Czech.
