Descripción
This scholarly collective monograph contains contributions by twenty-one authors reflecting on fantastic expression in literary and theatrical works. Five thematic sections examine utopianism in literature; the sharing of stories, worlds and language; the roots of not only Czech fantasy; creativity and fantastical elements in stories not intended exclusively for children; and Central European postmodernism. They present ways of studying the fantastic from the perspectives of literary theory and history, theatre and cognitive studies, philosophy and comparative literature. The book’s broad understanding of the fantastic encompasses both genre and non-genre forms, helping to bridge the largely artificial boundary between them. The contents are in Czech.
