This Czech-language road movie and adventure story follows three young men who decide, after a pub drinking session before the end of their studies, to travel around the world in a retired London taxi bought through eBay. Paul, Leigh and John have little money, no real mechanical experience and no plan, but they want to travel in a legendary Black Cab and record a record-breaking route in the Guinness Book of Records. Their journey takes them from London through Paris, Moscow and Finland, then across China, Pakistan, India, Iran, Iraq and other countries to Australia. Along the way, they camp on Russian motorways, accidentally spend a night at an Iranian artillery position, evade an armed escort in lawless Balochistan, master couchsurfing and find free food wherever possible. After 15 months, 43,000 miles and 8,000 litres of diesel, their taxi, named Hannah, returns to London with its passengers. The book combines a travel diary with an adventurous road story and suggests that such an experience is possible for anyone willing to set out and dare the impossible.
