Descripción
This Czech-language audiobook presents Agatha Christie's final novel and the last case of the amateur detective couple Tommy and Tuppence. Christie began and ended her literary career with their stories: their first appearance came in The Secret Adversary, published in 1922, while The Postern of Fate, the final Beresford mystery, closed her remarkable body of work in 1973. Already suffering from a prolonged illness, Christie dictated the novel, returning to characters who had aged with her. After moving into an English country house for their retirement, Tuppence discovers a mysterious word cipher hidden in an old book while sorting through volumes left by the previous owners. Poisonous foxglove leaves from the garden provide another clue, drawing the couple into a murder that leads back to the years before the First World War. As they investigate the murder of the governess Mary Jordan, Tommy and Tuppence revisit details from their earlier cases in The Secret Adversary and N or M?, when they confronted powerful spy networks. The audiobook is read by Jana Stryková.
