It has many names, but it always looks the same – a white-haired man with a beard who brings gifts to good children at Christmas. Who would have thought that he was once a little boy? His name was Nikolas, and he was born in Finland to a family so poor that his only toy was a little figure carved from a turnip. He lost his mother early on, and one day his father joined a royal expedition searching far to the north for mythical elves. But he didn't return for a long time, so Nikolas set out to find him with his mouse friend. And that was the beginning of a great thrilling adventure, filled with elves, magic, goblins, flying reindeer, and even trolls, at the end of which the human world will be a noticeably happier and more magical place to live...
