In the 2nd century BC, a powerful and celebrated ruler governed India, becoming one of the most important figures in the country’s history. As a young prince, Ashoka leaves his kingdom and travels to neighbouring provinces in search of love, happiness and adventure. On his journey he meets a beautiful girl, Princess Kaurwaki, who soon becomes his wife. Their happiness is cruelly marked by fate. When the young man learns that his mother has been murdered, he hardens his heart, and the whole country feels the merciless hand of the warrior. This lyrical story is a grand epic inspired by an ancient Indian legend, filled with beautiful exotic scenery and costumes.
