Clarinet Factory continue their remarkable journey through the world of sound with Towers, exploring new creative paths without standing still. Compared with their previous recording, Pipers (2020), the Prague-based ensemble places greater emphasis on instrumental compositions, making the first single, Obloha šedá, one of only two songs with lyrics. Clarinet Factory’s clarinets, drums, loopers and electronics take the leading role, while vocals are often used as an instrument or ambient element. Beata Hlavenková contributes distinctive, colourful layers on piano and Fender piano, while Milan Cimfe of SONO Records adds drums, samples and further electronics. The album also features drummer Dan Šoltis, a longtime collaborator. Towers is another multifaceted addition to Clarinet Factory’s discography, rewarding discovery with every listen. It includes Towers, Obloha šedá, Paleochora, Drufolk, Encore une fois, Eliška, Joy Machine, Blue Mood, Global Space Village, Déšť přichází and Transformation.
