This Czech-language MP3 audiobook presents 27 stories about the bandit family Rumcajs, Manka and Cipísek, known from the Czech television bedtime-story series. Václav Čtvrtek’s now-classic fairy tales about the bandit from Řáholec Forest have become a favourite of several generations. Karel Höger originally recorded some of the stories for Supraphon, while Josef Dvořák recorded the remaining parts from the book by Václav Čtvrtek and Radek Pilař in 1999. The collection features the original music by Václav Lídl and cover artwork by Radek Pilař, the illustrator and co-creator of Rumcajs. The stories follow Rumcajs, Manka and their son Cipísek through such adventures as becoming a bandit, giving Manka a sun ring, drowning a dragon, fishing, learning honesty, Cipísek’s birth, outwitting fairies, bringing down a bear, saving a spring, punishing a brewer and a general, and helping the water goblin Volšoveček. Together they face a princess, a duke, a mayor, a pike, a catfish and many other fantastical challenges.
