This two-CD collection for children brings together fairy tales, songs and stories by Zdeněk Svěrák, with music by Jaroslav Uhlíř, Jiří Kolafa, Ivan Mládek and Petr Skoumal. Inspired by the book published by Fragment in 2003, it follows its selection of songs, fairy tales and stories in audio form. Most of the songs come from Czech Television’s programme Hodina zpěvu, while the fairy tales and stories are drawn from Radovanovy radovánky, Tatínku, ta se ti povedla and the programme Čtení do ouška. The songs, stories and fairy tales by Zdeněk Svěrák and Jaroslav Uhlíř have become part of the national cultural heritage, appealing to younger and older generations with their wisdom, wit and inventive humour. They are performed, sung and played by Zdeněk Svěrák, Jaroslav Uhlíř, members of the children’s choir Sedmihlásek, Ivan Mládek and other musicians and performers. The selection includes songs such as Není nutno, Křížovky, Elektrický valčík, Mravenčí ukolébavka and Moje milá plaví koně, as well as stories including Jak se hadici narodily děti a jak je Radovan zachránil, Jak Radovan s Kateřinkou vymysleli psí ukolébavku and the bonus Hotelová pohádka.
