This anniversary reissue commemorates a rock album that has been important for four decades. Although calling an album a cult classic can be questionable, the term is truly fitting here. Released in spring 1983 during a period of censorship and political pressure following the article “Nová vlna se starým obsahem”, the album exceeded expectations visually, musically, lyrically and in concert. Abraxas, originally an almost art-rock band led by guitarist Slávek Janda and drummer Ivan Pelíšek, transformed into an energetic rock force with the arrival of singer Miroslav Imrich and bassist Michal Ditrich. New lyricist Pavel Zeman was a perfect fit, while the production collaboration with journalist František Horáček proved beneficial. The cover, featuring photographs by Jaroslav Prokop and graphics by Adam Hoffmeister, appealed to a wide audience. Together with the band’s legendary live performances, songs such as Každý den je to jinak, Země se točí dokola, Box, Zoo and Nekonečný boogie became symbols of the era and an entry point for new rock fans. Remastering for 180-gram vinyl, a reconstructed cover and an inner sleeve with photographs and an unknown alternative version of the front cover make this reissue a perfect memory for those who remember the period and a possible invitation for younger discoverers of old rock treasures.
