Young car thief Jozef, who calls himself Joko, is a target of cruel bullying by fellow prisoners in jail. After an attempted suicide, he is taken to the hospital, from where he manages to escape. While fleeing from the police, he steals a car, only to discover later that there is an eleven-year-old girl, Kika (real name Kristína), inside, whose father had momentarily stepped away to take care of something. Initially, it appears as the police see it – a violent offender has kidnapped an innocent little girl. However, the mismatched pair gradually grows closer while hiding in the nature of the Danube region. Kika is a child of divorced parents, neither of whom has time for her, while Joko is just an insignificant pawn in the game of the mafia dealer Mačuga, who has corrupt policemen under his thumb. Both long for a better place in the world. For Joko, this means catching a ship sailing to Austria...
