Synopsis
On the banks of a calm river flowing through a rural town stands an old mansion shrouded in many secrets and mysteries. It becomes the target of interest for a group of young boys who decide to explore it. However, their plan was betrayed in advance, leading to a big surprise awaiting them. The visit to this house brings about significant changes in the peaceful lives of the boys from the river. They discover that the house harbors no secrets but is home to a lonely old lady yearning for her missing son. Her only joy is her granddaughter, the young and beautiful Helenka. Unintentionally, Helenka causes a division among the boys into two hostile factions – the Portyčáks and the Bukouns. This division arises because Tomík, the 15-year-old leader of one group, falls in love with Helenka. The enmity among the river children does not last long; eventually, all the problems are resolved, and peace returns by the water.
