In addition to transport vehicles for carrying firefighters and their equipment, as well as Samaritan ambulances for transporting the sick to hospitals operated by fire brigades at the time, the greatest aid to firefighters was the motorized fire engines. Automobiles were able to transport firefighters and their equipment to the fire much faster than horse-drawn vehicles and soon began to replace them. The very first motorized fire engine in the Vysočina region was delivered in 1919 to the then approximately seventeen-thousand-strong town of Třebíč. Alongside the Třebíč Fiat automobile with a superstructure from the company Raimund August Smekal from Čech pod Kosířem, other vehicles gradually appeared in the region. Their modifications for firefighting were carried out in collaboration with specialized companies. In addition to R. A.
