Efforts to place scientific theories within a broader cultural framework (Th. Kuhn) as well as claims of absolute anarchy in the field of the logic of scientific theories (P. Feyerabend) were yet to come. Gadamer's own discourse on method thus grew from a completely different tradition. It lends a broader meaning to Heidegger's idea of philosophical hermeneutics, as it deepens his reflections on the being of \"hermeneutic experience,\" on the being of history, and on living being in tradition, while also transferring a purely philological interpretation of tradition into the open realm of philosophical thought.
