In the book, I write about some events towards the end of the war (about the bombings), about February 1948, about executions and the breaking of personalities in the 1950s, about the breath of relaxation at the end of the 60s and Jan Palach's self-immolation; I summarize the period of normalization in several images, but also the time after the revolution with its negatives, which the protagonist of the book perceives patiently. And in several images, to ensure the narrative is not torn from its historical context, I describe the student revolutionary moods of the late 60s and elsewhere in Europe (Finland, West Germany). Despite all the tensions it depicts, the book is peaceful: its protagonist views his time through the eyes of a conscious Christian, who, despite the wavering in faith that he reached under the pressure of all the events of the time—just as many people lose their life certainties and helplessly seek the meaning of their existence in many of its substitutes—again finds his place in a fulfilling life.
