Since 1942, extensive international negotiations were underway, and new agreements were being formed. All of this was meant to assist in the so-called repatriation, that is, the return of these displaced people to their homeland. However, the reality was much more challenging than the plans, and the return extended over several months and even years. The book maps the organization of these returns in Czechoslovakia from the plans of the government in exile through the activities of the repatriation department to the tireless assistance of thousands of people. Volunteers and various organizations operated kitchens and cared for the returnees. The text is accompanied by a unique visual supplement of original photographs, allowing us to see that it was not merely a movement of masses, but of specific faces.
