Honza a Beranek DVD

Synopsis
The new bedtime story of Czech Television combines two phenomena of Czech children's creation: the artistic expression of Josef Lady and the classic fairytale character of Czech Honza, which belongs to the best and most interesting of our fairytale tradition, and the ambiguity of his character directly invites new processing... Honza grazes the sheep of a wealthy farmer on the hillside behind the village, dreaming of what the world beyond the big hill might be like. In spring, a black lamb is born in the herd, the most curious and lively of them all. He just wants to play and can't stand being without Honza. However, the black lamb is a thorn in the side of the farmer because he believes it brings bad luck and wants to get rid of it as soon as possible. An opportunity soon arises, and Honza and the lamb have no choice but to venture into the world for experience... Honza and the black lamb form the central duo of the series, experiencing various fairytale adventures together, whether with the water goblin or the witch, on a pilgrimage or at a mysterious castle. Honza and the lamb are not straightforward heroes; sometimes we may even doubt the wisdom and usefulness of some of their actions. However, thanks to their cleverness, playfulness, inventiveness, and courage, they always manage to cope. Together, they create an immensely likable and original pair. The stories are set in Lad's Hrusice with its unique atmosphere and picturesque surroundings.
