A Különös házasság" is a four-part Hungarian TV series made in 1984, based on the highly successful work of Kálmán Mikszáth. The series features unforgettable performances by renowned actors in the main roles.

Disc (Parts 1-2):
Two students, Count Buttler János and his friend Bernáth Zsiga, are traveling from the Pataki college to Bornóc. Unfortunately, on their way, they stop in Röszke, where they spend a day at Baron Dőry's house. Dőry makes them swear to visit again on their way back. Back in Bornóc, during the holidays, Count János proposes to Piroska Horváth, a young lady he has long been in love with, and who reciprocates his feelings. On their return journey, the students are captured at Dőry's house, where Count Buttler is forcefully married to Dőry's daughter, Mária, by a priest who, in a twist of fate, had impregnated Mária.

Disc (Parts 3-4):
After being captured at Baron Dőry's house, Count Buttler is forced into marriage with the baron's daughter, Mária. Despite efforts by Buttler, his family, and friends to annul the marriage, the church and the court, fearing for their reputation, do not allow it. Therefore, Count János and his beloved choose a different path to dissolve their marriage.

The TV adaptation of Kálmán Mikszáth's successful novel is notable for its memorable acting performances in this release.
