Synopsis
Endre Fejes' successful TV film adaptation is based on an event from the early 1960s. It tells the story of a young, psychologically troubled laborer who, with great effort, saves enough money to temporarily assume a new identity. Pretending to be a Greek diplomat, he indulges in a few days of extravagance: paying for luxurious dinners, courting elegant women, though always disappearing before any engagement gets too serious. However, his plan takes an unexpected turn when he falls in love with the beautiful Zsuzsa Karácsony and finds himself unable to leave her as planned. The story explores themes of identity, desire, and the consequences of living a lie.
