Famous Slovakian actor Marian Labuda was born in 1944 in Hontianské Nemce. He worked at the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava, and in 1968, co-founded theatre company Divadlo na Korze. He also played at the National Theatre in Brno and at the Theatre in Vinohrady. In the early 80s, he was noticed by Czech directors. Juraj Herz entrusted him the title role in the comedy the Bulldogs and Cherries (1981). With episode jobs came Dusan Klein (Radical Cut) and Jiri Krejcik (Salesman of Humor).
