Synopsis
Following the enchanting fairy tale "Čarovné dědictví" from 1985, director Zdeněk Zelenka created another film for young audiences in 1990 at the Zlín Film Studio— "Freonový duch" (The Freon Spirit). As suggested by the title, this spooky comedy, intended for both children and their parents, addresses the hotly debated topic of ecology and air pollution on our planet. But fear not—the serious issue unfolds into a delightful narrative about children, Žaneta and Marek, from a cave sanatorium who, along with the benevolent ghost Leopold, ride the machine Matylda into a pristine landscape at the turn of the century. Their journey is filled with “terrifying” adventures and battles. The film also features several catchy songs by Jiří Suchý and Jan Krůta. The children's roles are portrayed by R. Hoppe and K. Pokorná, while the ghost Leopold is played by Vlastimil Brodský.
